*Bonus Post* I met Jim Robinson!

Yes Spamalot Theatre fans it’s 100% true, and I’m very excited. First let us remind ourselves of the role that made him famous:

.

It all started like this

Alan Dale, who played the iconic Jim Robinson when Neighbours used to get 19 million viewers came into DiscountTheatre.com HQ to give us all Swedish chocolates and have his pictures taken. This was all to promote the fact that he has just taken to role of King Arthur in Spamalot!

It seems that since his commanding performance alongside Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan in everyone’s favourite Aussie soap, he’s been in the process of shooting to Hollywood stardom making appearances in many hit shows like The OC, Ugly Betty and 24. (He’s a real Hollywood big shot and it’s doing wonderful things for Spamalot Sales.)

JS3_1051new *Bonus Post* I met Jim Robinson!Anyway there I am tapping away at my computer when a hush falls over the office and I realise that his arrival is imminent. I could not quite see him at first as my view was blocked by a filing cabinet but I could hear wild shrieks of “G’day Mate!” and “Bonza!”.

A chance like this does not come often in ones short life so it was now my mission to shake the mans hand. I stood up and made for the ruckus, my heart beating and temperature rising, there was not much time until curtain up so I knew I had to hurry.

Then suddenly there he was, standing in front of me. The man who became like my father in the 1980’s.

As I expected he has a handshake like a beast, and from that point on it’s all a bit of a blur. There where cameras and laughing and stories and well the outcome of it all was this picture which I will cherish for my life.

He had his big strong Australian arm around me and I’m not ashamed to say I liked it very much!

Anyway what does all this mean?

Well it means that Spamalot is still one of the best shows in the West End and even though my good friend Alan Dale has now moved onto pastures new his replacement is the wonderful Sanjeev Bhaskar from TV’s The Kumars at No. 42 and Goodness Gracious Me!
